They say that knowledge is power, having a deep knowledge of something or someone helps you to get a deeper understanding about it. It is therefore very important to know if someone loves you.

Love can be described as a deeper and enduring affection towards something or someone. Human beings exhibit a form of love which they express towards each other. But sometimes this love fades away, you will hear them saying that I no longer love him/ her anymore.

Therefore the love expressed by human beings should never be compared to the love that comes from God. The love that God gives is called Agape love.

Agape in Greek is the fatherly love of God to humanity. It is the highest form of love of God towards man that is unconditional. That is it doesn’t depend on us but God.

How will I know that Jesus Christ loves me?

For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ( Romans 5:6-8)

The death of Jesus Christ at the cross and His satisfactory work of the cross is a clear and greatest demonstration of the love of God and Jesus Christ.

Since the entry of sin into the world through Adam’s disobedience, all mankind was born in sin. Sin brought a barrier that separated man from God. Death spread to all mankind and man was heading for destruction in the lake of fire.( Romans 5:12)

The justice of God demanded that man should pay for his own sin which he committed in the Garden of Eden. But among the sons of men there was none who was found to be perfect and righteous even to pay a ransom for his own sin.

All had sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, there was none righteous not even one. All were ungodly not even seeking after God.( Romans 3:23)

Even in this state Jesus Christ decided to lower Himself and become of no reputation, humbled Himself and took the lowly form of man just to provide a sacrifice for the sins of the lost world.( Philippians 2:5-8)

No one killed Jesus Christ at the cross, but He was a Good Shepherd who was willing to lay down His life for the sake of the lost world  at the cross for the sake of the lost sheep.

Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” ( John 10:18)

When Apostle John is writing to the seven churches which were in Asia according to  the book of Revelation, in his greetings he reveals to them the love of Jesus Christ to them.

John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, ( Revelation 1:4-5)

If you really want to know if Jesus Christ loves you just look at the cross there you will see the perfect love of Jesus Christ.
