Jesus Christ is part of the Trinity of God composed of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God the Son.

The Trinity of God works together and came to existence at the same time. You cannot separate either one of them from each other, they work as a solid unit.

Although in the beginning of the Bible we only hear of God the Father and God the Holy Spirit who was hovering over the face of the waters.( Genesis 1:1-2).

But this should not bring an implication that God the Son was not in existence from the beginning and maybe appeared on the scene in the New Testament. Let’s see what John wrote about Jesus Christ from the gospel.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. ( John 1:1-3).

Jesus Christ is the Word that is being mentioned here. To prove this, John comes to reveal to us who is the Word that He was talking about in the following verse.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.( John 1:14). This is simply the incarnation of Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ is the Word that became flesh.

From the above scriptures we can clearly see that Jesus Christ was there from the beginning even during creation.

Jesus Christ was made flesh only for the sake of redeeming mankind from sin. He was to provide a perfect sacrifice at the cross for the remission of our sins.

Eventually Jesus Christ died at the cross for our redemption according to the scriptures.

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,( 1 Corinthians 15:3)

The death of Jesus Christ at the cross doesn’t indicate the end of existence of Jesus Christ. Jesus concurred death and on the third day rose from the dead.

And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,( 1 Corinthians 15:4).

Death had power over Jesus Christ as He triumphed over it with victory. But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.( 1 Corinthians 15:20)

To prove His resurrection, Jesus Christ had to appear to Cephas then by the twelve disciples of which Thomas had to prove that He was the real Jesus Christ by touching Jesus’ scars on His hand.

After this Jesus Christ was seen by five hundred brethren at once. Then He was seen by James and all the Apostles. ( 1 Corinthians 15:5-7). The empty tomb is yet another evidence that Jesus Christ arose from the dead.

After the resurrection Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven as witnessed by His disciples.( Acts 1:9). Jesus Christ went and sat on the right hand of the Father.

Although in heaven Christ’s work is still evident through the power of the Holy Spirit in us who is a Helper that He left with us. Through the working power of the Holy Spirit we can experience the existence of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He was , He is and is to come because He lives forever.
